CMS to Hold Open Door Forum Regarding Impact of Removal of SSN numbers to MMSEA Section 111 Reporting

On the heels of CMS’ announcement from May 2016 that it was taking steps to comply with the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), which requires CMS to remove SSNs from Medicare ID cards by April 16, 2019, CMS has announced an Open Door Forum call to address how this change would impact Section 111 processes. The announcement from CMS states that the call will take place Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 3-4 PM EST and will address the following issues for MSP Stakeholders:Section 111 and VDSA MSP and non-MSP submission and response files), Section 111 Querying Processes, Other Input and Response Files (SPAP, ADAP, and PAP files), Web Portals (MSPRP, CRCP, and WCMSAP), and Outbound Correspondence.
